Woman faces second-degree charge of raping boy, 13

RUSSELLVILLE, Ala. (AP) Authorities say a 24-year-old Franklin County woman has been indicted and accused of raping a 13-year-old boy.

Officials in the Franklin County Sheriff's Office said Ashley Turner is accused of having a sexual relation with the boy for a long time before his parents found out.

Turner was indicted during the May grand jury session.

Authorities said the sexual encounters reportedly occurred at the boy's home in 2008. They said Turner and the boy are friends, and that the boy consented to the sexual relationship.

Kathy Connolly, director of Rape Response in Florence, said the boy legally is too young to consent.

Second-degree rape is a Class B felony and carries a prison sentence of 2-20 years.

I wager that if found guilty, Ms. Turner will spend little or no time in prison. Severel years of probation is most likely. Also, I agree totally with poster Kathy.
