WEDOWEE, Ala. (AP) - Two men have been arrested and 45 dogs taken from two homes in Randolph County suspected as sites for training dogs for fighting.
District Attorney E. Paul Jones, who took part in Monday's raid, said 54-year-old William Alsabrook of Newell and 34-year-old Artis Kyles of Roanoke were charged with harboring dogs for fighting purposes.
They remained in the Randolph County jail Tuesday awaiting bond.
Kyles also faces drug and firearm possession charges.
Alsabrook's lawyer, Thomas Radney of Alexander City, said Tuesday that his client denies any wrongdoing.
It was not clear if Kyles had a lawyer.
