BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Birmingham police are probing the shooting death of 57-year-old Frank Wright, of Munster, Ind.
The steel consultant apparently had stopped to wash his car on his way to pick up his wife at the Birmingham airport Friday night when became the city's 27th homicide victim.
Wright's vehicle was stolen and later found partially burned in another part of the city.
Police say they have a suspect in custody with charges pending in the murder. The suspect's name was not immediately released.
Wright's sister, Leslie Locke, says her brother was in Birmingham working as a consultant with U.S. Steel through the end of the month. He and his wife planned to travel Sunday from her parent's home in Jasper to Arkansas for a family reunion.
