AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - State troopers say two Lee County juveniles
have been arrested after leading officers on a car chase across
three counties at speeds up to 90 mph.
Trooper spokesman John Reese in Montgomery says the nearly
hour-long chase began in Auburn about 11 p.m. Friday when Auburn
police notified troopers in Opelika they were chasing a silver
Dodge Neon on Interstate 85.
Officers from Opelika joined the chase and spike strips were set
up in Macon County on I-85.
Reese says the suspects' stolen vehicle ran over the spike
strips and kept going until troopers finally stopped the vehicle in
Prattville on Interstate 65.
Both teens are being held at the Lee County Detention Facility
on felony robbery charges. No names were released.
