MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Five Birmingham police officers have
been fired for beating an unconscious suspect with fists, feet and
a billy club after a roadway chase.

The beating was caught on videotape by a camera mounted on a
police car.

Police spokesman Sgt. Johnny Williams said Wednesday that the officers have been fired.

The officers have not been identified.

They can appeal their firings to the Jefferson County Personnel
Board.

Authorities believe the video has been seen by numerous
Birmingham officers and as many as a half-dozen supervisors over the past year.

It was taken in January 2008 after a high-speed chase by several area law enforcement agencies ended when the suspect's van flipped over.

Investigators say the suspect, Anthony Warren, didn't know he
had been beaten.

I think they did an outstanding job. They should be commended for the actions they took. He deserved what he got. Watch the video then you be the judge. They should be re-instated and given a bonus. NOT RACIST just the facts video speaks louder than words.

I hope those cops get prison time...you cant trust the Police, especially ones without color...like the cops here in Tucson there all dirty..they like 2 violate peoples rights and most are covered by the thin blue line..yup cops are the same all over..you just find more and more getting caught being dirty bcuz of all the cameras out there...and see how long that tape wuz covered up by the front line supervisors in that department, but its not like Birmingham has a good past when it comes to their officers dealing with people especiall people that have some color...
