TALLADEGA, Ala. (AP) - A 26-year-old Talladega County man
convicted of capital murder has been sentenced to serve two
consecutive life prison sentences.
In February, a circuit jury convicted Isaim Rashune Whitson of
capital murder for the May 29, 2005 shooting deaths of 17-year-old
Brandon Drew Bennett and 24-year-old and Kendrick Maurice Elston,
both of Talladega.
Prosecutors said the victims were shot at least seven times each
outside a local cafe.
Whitson fled to Los Angeles but was captured five months later.
Jurors had recommended that Whitson be sentenced to life in
prison without parole.
