MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - Police have arrested 31-year-old Angela
Garcia in Mobile on a felony charge of exposing her infant son to
methadone which led to his death on Nov. 1, 2008.
Police Cpl. Charles Bagsby said Garcia was arrested Tuesday and
taken to the Mobile County Metro Jail.
It was not immediately known if she had an attorney.
Her initial court appearance is set for 8:30 a.m. Thursday.
Bagsby said an autopsy determined that 1-year-old James Langley
Jr. died as a result of a methadone overdose.
Toxicology tests also revealed that the infant had ingested methadone on various occasions.
Methadone is a synthetic narcotic stronger than morphine.
If convicted, Garcia could be sentenced to 10 years to life in
