ASHVILLE, Ala. (AP) - The St. Clair County school system has informed the American Civil Liberties Union that it will no longer offer single-sex classes.
The ACLU had told the system it felt the practice is discriminatory and requested records about the progam.
Officals with St. Clair County schools sent the ACLU a letter last week saying the school system would end the single-sex education program at Odenville Middle School and would not offer it in any other schools in the upcoming school year.
Single-sex classes were also ended in Mobile County schools after the ACLU threatened to sue over the gender segregation.
