MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - U.S. Rep. Artur Davis of Birmingham has
created an advisory committee for his campaign for governor that
includes more than 30 prominent women from across the state.
Davis says the Women for Artur Davis 2010 Committee includes
Birmingham attorney Laveeda Battle, Hayneville Mayor Helenor Bell,
BE&K Vice President Carnetta Davis of Birmingham, former Democratic
National Committee member Pat Edington of Mobile, Birmingham
philanthropist Jimmie Hess, former federal Magistrate Vanzetta
McPherson of Montgomery, Selma City Council member Susan Keith and
Wilson Broadcasting co-owner Marthia Wilson of Dothan.
Davis is seeking the Democratic nomination for governor next year.
