MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - One of Governor Bob Riley's Cabinet members, Bill Johnson, is considering running for the Republican nomination for governor next year.
Johnson is director of the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs. He said Thursday he has been receiving lots of encouragement to consider the governor's race, and he's doing that. Johnson said he has not set a deadline for deciding.
Johnson's boss has served two terms as governor and can't run again next year.
