Florida man gets prison term for huge pot bust

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - A Florida man is headed to federal
prison following his conviction in a huge marijuana bust on an
Alabama interstate.

U.S. Attorney Alice Martin in Birmingham said Tuesday 38-year-old Anthony Daralius Jones of Del Ray Beach was sentenced to 46 months.

In June 2008, Jones was convicted of possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.

Alabama state troopers discovered about 980 pounds of marijuana
when they stopped a tractor trailer in Nov. 2007 on Interstate 59
North.

Jones also awaits trial in Arizona for a similar arrest in May
2004 after 581 pounds of marijuana was seized.
