HEADLAND, Ala. (AP) - The condition of a 38-year-old Henry County sheriff's deputy who was wounded by a suspect last week has been upgraded to 'fair'
Yost was wounded and Headland Police Officer Dexter Hammond was killed after 53-year-old Fred Davis opened fire at his Headland trailer home Friday.
The officials were responding to a call about Davis firing a shotgun into the air.
Authorities say he had apparently stopped taking anti-psychotic drugs.
Headland Officer Hammond was laid to rest this morning in Eufaula, Alabama.
