BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Birmingham authorities are probing the cause of a suspicious fire that damaged three homes in Ensley, including a possible church parsonage.
Firefighters were called to the scene abouit 5:30 a.m. Thursday on 19th Street Ensley. Fire Battalion Chief Donald Graham says one house was engulfed in flames like a big bonfire.
The fire destroyed the red brick home and another adjacent home. Graham says both houses were vacant and had no working utilities.
A third structure had substantial fire damage. That structure is believed to be a church parsonage or belong to nearby Trinity A.M.E. Zion Church.
No one was injured in the blaze.
