'Bama regains NFL draft presence

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - The Alabama football program will once again be well represented in the NFL draft.

The Crimson Tide has a number of players who are expected to be drafted this weekend, led by All-America offensive tackle Andre Smith. Smith is projected as a likely Top 10 pick.

That would make him the first 'Bama player chosen in the opening round since Chris Samuels and Shaun Alexander in 2000.

Free safety Rashad Johnson and center Antoine Caldwell are rated high among players at their positions. Tailback Glen Coffee and quarterback John Parker Wilson also are expected to be drafted.

Nose guard Terrence Cody and linebacker Rolando McClain are regarded as potential first-round picks next year, if McClain opts to skip his senior season.
