BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Authorities have identified two people who were killed by storms that slammed into north Alabama.
Morgan County Coroner Russ Beard said 63-year-old Robert Irwin died in his mobile home near Priceville on Sunday night.
Later in adjoining Marshall County, Coroner Marlon Killion said 58-year-old Janice Salters died in a storm that seriously injured her husband. The couple lived in the Asbury community.
The National Weather Service in Huntsville said storms with 70 mph winds and possible twisters struck six counties in the Tennessee Valley over four hours Sunday night.
To the south, the weather service office in Birmingham said it was investigating possible tornadoes in Hale, Russell, Shelby and Blount counties.
