ALABASTER, Ala. (AP) - Republican state Rep. Cam Ward of Alabaster says he plans to run for the Senate District 14 seat being vacated by state Sen. Hank Erwin of Montevallo.
Ward announced his candidacy after Erwin kicked off a campaign for lieutenant governor on Sunday.
Ward is an attorney who works in economic development. He's serving his second term in the House, where he is vice chairman of the House Republican Caucus.
District 14 covers all of Chilton County and parts of Bibb,
Jefferson and Shelby counties.
