Saraland youth coach arrested on drug charge

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - Mobile police have arrested a 35-year-old youth baseball coach on charges of cocaine trafficking, assault and carrying a pistol without a permit.

Officer Christopher Levy, a police spokesman, said Marlon Rayford Wade II of Eight Mile was arrested about 12:30 p.m. Thursday in west Mobile.

Levy said Wade had more than a kilogram of cocaine and the pistol when he was arrested.

He said the street value of the cocaine was more than $24,000.

Wade was being without bond at Mobile County Metro Jail Friday.

It was not clear if Wade had retained a lawyer.
