GROVE HILL, Ala. (AP) - Former state Rep. Greg Albritton of Range is the apparent winner of the Republican primary to fill the Alabama Senate District 22 seat formerly held by Democrat Pat Lindsey, who died in January.
Unofficial returns show Albritton won 57 percent of the vote in the district in eight counties of southwest Alabama.
Judy Belk of Citronelle and Danny Joyner of Brewton also were on Tuesday's ballot. The district includes nearly 88,000 voters in all or parts of Mobile, Baldwin, Escambia, Conecuh, Monroe, Clark, Choctaw and Washington counties.
Albritton faces Democrat Marc Keahey of Grove Hill in a special election on June 2.
