Alabama coast prepares for summer tourism

GULF SHORES, Ala. (AP) - Gearing up for summer tourism, officials in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach have set May 19 as the date for the coast's annual tourism summit.

Businesses will be given guidance on travel industry and
technology at the summit held at the Erie H. Meyer Civic Center in
Gulf Shores.

New South Research president Jim Jager is among the speakers.

He's scheduled to discuss results of surveys and focus groups that
he conducted on area visitors.

State Tourism Director Lee Sentell is the scheduled keynote
lunch speaker.
