3 dead bodies found in Athens and Limestone County

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) - A statement from Athens Police Capt. Marty Bruce said 51-year-old Jackie Hughes Bates and 40-year-old Steven Louis Goode were found lying dead on a couch at a home in Athens.

Bruce said there was no immediate evidence of foul play and police belive both Bates and Goode took a large quantity of drugs on Wednesday night.

Bates' brother, Thomas Hughes, was found dead earlier in the day
at a home in Limestone County. Officials say a drug overdose is
suspected in his death as well.

The two bodies were discovered after a friend went to notify
Bates of her brother's death.
