SUMMERDALE, Ala. (AP) - A 3-year-old Baldwin County boy drowned
in a pond near his home in Summerdale.
Coroner Jim Small says Nathan Olson drowned on Spring Creek
Drive at about 6:10 p.m. Saturday.
The mobile home at the site was off a dirt road south of Baldwin County 34.
The child was taken by ambulance to South Baldwin Regional
Medical Center, but was pronounced dead at the Foley hospital.
Sheriff's Maj. Anthony Lowery says the boy's mother found him
face down in the retention pond.
He had been playing nearby with a 5-year-old.
The investigation continues and an autopsy is planned.
