DAPHNE, Ala. (AP) - Alabama State Troopers say 38-year-old
Lester Anthony Jackson of Mobile escaped injury after his truck
flipped over the guard rail on the Interstate 10 Bayway and landed
in shallow waters.
The accident about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday shut down the bridge's
westbound lanes until around 3:30 a.m. Thursday.
Jackson was rescued by a Daphne Search and Rescue airboat, and,
not long afterward, talked with troopers at the crash scene.
Troopers said the truck was an environmental vacuum truck and
they didn't believe it was carrying any dangerous material.
Troopers said a passenger in another vehicle involved in the
accident was treated at Thomas Hospital for minor injuries.
