Man indicted in quadruple slaying near Birmingham

BESSEMER, Ala. (AP) - A grand jury has indicted a man for a
quadruple slaying in Hueytown.

Scott Lamar Abbott faces five counts of capital murder in the
March 8 2009 killings of William Chad Gilbert (31), Jeri Lynn Cole
(27), Nika Sandlin (24) and Joshua Gilleo (26).

Authorities said all the victims were stabbed and slashed in the
suburban Birmingham community.

Investigators believe the 24-year-old Abbott was the spurned
boyfriend of one of the women who was killed.

Abbott was being held without bond at the Jefferson County Jail
in Bessemer.
