ASHVILLE, Ala. (AP) - A St. Clair County judge has ruled that
charity bingo can be played legally on electronic machines in
Ashville.

The ruling by Circuit Judge Charles Robinson on Monday opens the way for a bingo hall, with possibly 2,500 machines, to be opened in the north Alabama town.

The hall would be run by American Legion Post 170 and possibly other charities.

The sheriff and district attorney from St. Clair County had
sought to block the plans.
