Celebration set for injured zebra

LOCUST GROVE, Ga. (AP) - Evidence the zebra is about to celebrate his one-year anniversary at Noah's Ark, the Locust Grove center that took him in after he was found injured along Interstate 75.

The zebra was believed to be 2 months to 3 months old when he was found last April 8. Authorities believe he fell from a truck passing through Georgia and then was hit by a car.

He was rushed to the veterinary school at Auburn University in Alabama, where he underwent extensive surgery to repair injuries to the pelvis, followed by a second surgery in June.

Noah's Ark spokeswoman Diane Smith says the zebra's health has
improved dramatically.

The shelter will hold a party from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday (April 4). Guests are asked to dress in black and white.
