Washington County Declared State of Emergency

Moderate flooding is occurring and expected to continue.

Right now officials say it looks like the Choctawhatchee at Caryville will crest at around 17.7 feet sometime Monday evening or the early morning hours of Tuesday however, changes to the forecast with a higher crest are possible.

Officials are concerned the rain forecast to move into the area Tuesday may cause additional concerns.

Some rural roads will likely be flooded after Tuesday’s rainfall and officials say they're anticipating several homes will be flooded as well.
