LOXLEY, Ala. (AP) - A pre-dawn tornado struck near the Alabama coast, damaging homes and causing several injuries.

Authorities said a twister hit Baldwin County about 4:30 a.m. Friday.

A house lost its roof near Loxley, and a mobile home rolled over with people inside in the Rosinton area. Maj. Anthony Lowery of the Baldwin County Sheriff's Department says the occupants were hurt, but not seriously.

Numerous other structures were damaged in Loxley, Robertsdale and near the Elsanor area.

Lowery says several people were injured and have been treated by ambulances, although no one has had to go to the hospital.
