PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say two spring
breakers ended up dead after a suspected hit-and-run driver crashed
while fleeing police.
Panama City Beach Police say 20-year-old Dakota Matthews, of
Birmingham, Ala., was driving early Sunday morning when his Nissan
Altima left the road and hit 20-year-old Randy Nolan, of Auburn,
Ala. Nolan was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say Matthews kept going after he hit Nolan, running an
officer off the road and eventually hitting an oncoming truck so
hard that it crashed into another truck.
Matthews was pronounced dead after the crash, and the drivers and passengers of the other vehicles received minor injuries.
