Graysville teenager in custody after mother killed

GRAYSVILLE, Ala. (AP) - A 16-year-old in Graysville has been taken into custody after shots were fired and the teeanger's mother was killed.

Jefferson County Sheriff's Office spokesman Lt. Randy Christian says the shots were fired around 8:15 p.m. Sunday and deputies responded.

Christian says the teenager tried to flee in a truck but was taken into custody without incident.

The victim's name has not been released.
