Sheriff: Fight to prevent DUI led to killing

ARDMORE, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say a north Alabama man shot and killed his nephew after fighting with the younger man to keep him from driving while drunk.

Limestone County Sheriff Mike Blakely said 26-year-old Russell "Rusty" George Jr. of Ardmore was shot early Monday in the chest, calf and thigh. He died later at Huntsville Hospital.

The sheriff said the man was fatally wounded after arguing with his uncle, 35-year-old Keith George. The older man told his nephew he was too drunk to drive after a family barbecue.

Keith George allegedly retrieved his .45-caliber handgun and shot his nephew during a scuffle. He is now charged with murder.
