4 Shelton St. basketball players hurt in wreck

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) -Four Shelton State Community College basketball players returning from a fishing trip were injured when their truck hit a tree in Wilcox County.

Trevell Coleman, Courtney Carr, Justin Wagner and Josh Mickler were hurt when their truck crossed the road, went into a ditch and hit the tree head-on.

Head coach Barry Mohun said none of the injuries was life-threatening. He said he was told that something happened with a tire on the truck when it wrecked Saturday morning.

The injuries leave Shelton State (28-2) shorthanded entering the Alabama community college men's basketball tournament. Coleman leads the team in assists.
