Alabama man gets 35 years in police officer's death

At a sentencing hearing Monday, 33-year-old Micah Day of
Millbrook was sentenced to 35 years.

He pleaded guilty to reckless murder for causing a deadly wreck
in July 2007 that killed Officer Robert Edward McCrory.

Court records showed Day ran a red light and struck a pickup
truck driven by McCrory.

Investigators said alcohol, marijuana and cocaine was a factor.

Authorities said Day had three prior arrests for DUI within the
past five years, including two in 2006.
