Authorities are still looking for 30-year-old Frankfort resident Miles Woodside and his 2-year-old daughter, Breanna. Woodside failed to return the girl to her mother, Athena Fritz, during a scheduled custodial exchange Friday afternoon. An Amber Alert was issued for the two Saturday morning.
Investigators now believe Woodside is somewhere near Ft. Payne, Alabama. They say they have a reliable source who was reportedly in contact with Woodside in the state on Friday afternoon. He was also reportedly spotted with the girl at a McDonalds there. Police in Alabama held a news conference late this afternoon about the sighting.
On Sunday evening, Woodside's uncle issued a plea for him to surrender and return his daughter to authorities.
"We urge you and beg you to do the right thing," said Jim Goodman during a press conference in Frankfort.
Goodman told reporters that Woodside loves his daughter very much and "worships the ground she walks on." He said he believes Woodside will "come to his senses and do the right thing."
Goodman said he saw Woodside with his daughter about two weeks ago and had no reason to believe something like this would happen.
Woodside's parents live in Alabama and relatives here say they're not surprised he headed that direction.
Breanna Woodside is a 2-year-old, white female, standing 3'0, weighing 35 lbs., with blonde hair and hazel eyes. She was last seen wearing purple sweat pants, purple/pink striped shirt, black jacket with pink lining, and blue shoes.
She was last seen with her father, Miles Woodside, 30, standing 6'1, weighing 190 lbs., with red hair and blue eyes in Frankfort, KY. He was last seen wearing loose blue jeans and tennis shoes.
Woodside drives a silver 1997 Lincoln Towncar, with the license plate KY - 064BAA.
Woodside is considered armed and possibly dangerous.
