Registered sex offender jailed in child rape case

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - A registered sex offender is in custody after Montgomery police charged him with sexually assaulting a six-year-old girl.

Major Huey Thornton, a police spokesman, said in a statement Thursday officers received an anonymous tip about the rape over the weekend.

He said a joint investigation by juvenile detectives and a parole officer confirmed the assault occurred.

37-year-old Calvin Green of Montgomery was charged with sodomy and sex abuse of a child under the age of 12. Thornton said Green has an extensive criminal history that included multiple sex-related offenses.

WHY was he out on the streets to begain with if he had a history of sex related crimes? An extensive criminal history that included multiple sex-related offenses means the _____ should have been buried a long time ago. Wake up people! How long are we going to put up with this kind bull? One offense is all it should have taken before he was castrated and jailed for life.
