BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - HealthSouth Corp., a provider of
inpatient rehabilitation services, said today it expects a higher
adjusted profit in 2009.
The company expects a profit excluding one-time items of between
85 cents and 90 cents per share, up from 75 cents per share in
2008. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expect a profit of 84
cents per share excluding items.
The figures exclude costs or gains for legal settlements.
