Police spokesman Lt. Mark Drinkard said a 7-year-old boy, an
11-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl were at the residence when
the violence occurred Sunday afternoon.
The children were not injured.
The gunman, 29-year-old Salatho Brown, is accused of killing
32-year-old LaTonya Wilkins-Harvest and her mother, 52-year-old
Drinkard said Brown and Wilkins-Harvest were in a relationship
and lived at the residence with their three children.
He said all indications are that it was a murder-suicide.
Someone called an adult relative of the victims while the
incident was in progress and they exchanged gunfire with Brown, who
fled back into the apartment.
