Mobile man pleads not guilty in slayings

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say 30-year-old Michael Woolf has pleaded not guilty to capital murder charges in the shooting deaths of his wife and young child in March 2008.

Woolf entered his plea Wednesday during his arraignment in Mobile County Circuit Court.

Woolf was arrested shortly after the bodies of 29-year-old Angel Woolf and two-year-old Ayden Woolf were found inside the trailer home the family shared in west Mobile.

Authorities say the mother and child had been shot at least once each.

If convicted, Woolf could be sentenced to death or life in prison without parole.

He remains in Mobile County Metro Jail.

A trial date has not been set.
