NE Ala. man accused of buying sex with teen

ANNISTON, Ala. (AP) - Authorities have arrested a Hokes Bluff man who allegedly paid to have sex with a 38-year-old woman and her 14-year-old daughter.

Calhoun County Sheriff Larry Amerson said 40-year-old Matthew Bennich was charged with rape and sodomy.

Bennich was being held in the county jail on a $60,000 bond Tuesday. It wasn't clear if he had a lawyer.

The mother, who was from Ozark and now lives in Houston County,
was arrested on a sodomy charge and released under a $100,000 bond.

The Gadsden Times, which reported the arrests, said it was not releasing the woman's name because that would identify the daughter.

Amerson said investigators interviewed the woman and her daughter two years ago after receiving reports and both denied the allegations.

But the girl, now 17, disclosed the information at a rape crisis center a few weeks ago.
