Anniston man killed in shootout with police

ANNISTON, Ala. (AP) - Anniston police officers shot and killed
an armed man during a standoff.

The shooting occurred Wednesday morning at a house on Noble St.
just after 11 a.m.

Anniston Police Chief John Dryden said officers responded to a
domestic call and found a man who had barricaded himself in his
house.

He said 78-year-old Junior Mask fired shots at officers when
they entered the house. Police returned fire and killed Mask.

None of the officers involved were injured.

The shooting is under investigation.
