BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Jefferson County sheriff's officials say
four people, all from out-of-state, were jailed Monday after
deputies seized more than 410 pounds of marijuana in separate
Sheriff's Lt. Randy Christian, a spokesman, said the marijuana
was seized during traffic stops on Interstate 20 East. He said both
vehicles were pulled over for traffic violations.
Arrested was 23-year-old Jorge Cruz Saenz of McAllen, Texas.
Christian said more than 400 pounds of the illegal weed was seized
from a horse trailer.
In the second case, two North Carolina men and an Arkansas man
were jailed after deputies found 10 pounds of marijuana stashed in
a rental car they were riding in.
All four were each charged with trafficking marijuana.
