AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - An Auburn University student accused of
injuring a fellow student at a fraternity party turned himself in
to police and was released on bond.
Auburn assistant police chief Tommy Dawson said 19-year-old
Zachary James Quillen was charged with second-degree assault on Monday.
Quillen is accused of striking 18-year-old Taylor Jones of
Montgomery at a party at the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity house on Jan. 11.
Taylor spent nearly two weeks in a Columbus, Ga., hospital
recovering from a head injury.
Quillen posted a $5,000 bond and was released from custody. Its
unclear he has retained an attorney.
Dawson said its likely the case will be presented to a grand
