SPANISH FORT, Ala. (AP) - State troopers say an Orange Beach man
was driving under the influence of alcohol when he drove his Toyota
4Runner into the back of a Ford Explorer on Interstate 10, running
the second vehicle off the road and killing a passenger in the vehicle.
Troopers arrested and charged 36-year-old Jonathan Cook with murder and DUI following Saturday's crash.
Troopers say 47-year-old Yvonne Arnold, of Louisiana, died at the scene.
She was asleep in the backseat of the Explorer being driven by
her brother, 56-year-old Garry Arnold of Farmerville, La. The
brother and another passenger, Cedric Sampson, were in fair
condition at a Mobile hospital with crash injuries.
The wreck occurred about 1:15 a.m. Saturday, about two miles
east of the Spanish Fort exit near Mobile.
