MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - State troopers are investigating a car
wreck that left a Montgomery police officer with serious injuries.
Capt. Huey Thornton says the officer suffered life-threatening
injuries and is being treated at Jackson Hospital. The officer's
name wasn't released.
Thornton says the crash happened Thursday night when a car made
a left turn without yielding, hitting the police cruiser and
forcing it to collide with a utility pole.
Police did not identify the driver of the other car but said the
person was not injured.
