Bright introduces first bill in Congress

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - New Alabama Congressman Bobby Bright has introduced his first bill in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Bright has introduced a bill to extend a tax deduction that small businesses receive for their capital expenses. The bill also provides a bonus depreciation for small businesses in the first year a capital expense occurs.

Bright says the bill will give small businesses an added incentive to expand and create jobs during the current economic recession.

Bright is a Democrat and is the former mayor of Montgomery.
