Alabama Man Found Slain at Truck Stop Identified

SATSUMA, Ala. (AP) - Satsuma police have identified a man found
slain at a truck stop as 54-year-old Charles L. Young of Washington

Young was from the Malcolm community but family members told
police he had been living in his van for more than a month.

The body was found in the passenger seat of Young's van on Saturday morning. The crime scene was in the parking lot of the Pilot Truck Stop on Highway 43 at Interstate 65.

Satsuma Police Chief David Benefield said Monday it appeared Young had been shot, but the cause of death remained under investigation.

He said there were no immediate suspects or motive for the slaying.
