Police say a 26-year-old man has surrendered
to face murder charges in the Dec. 21 shooting death of 23-year-old
Antoine J. Bennett.
Jasper Police Chief Bobby Cain says Donald Eugene Harris
surrendered to a detective without incident Saturday night and has
been charged with murder.
After the shooting, Bennett of Jasper was pronounced dead on
arrival at the Walker Baptist Medical Center. A motive for the
slaying wasn't immediately clear.
Harris remains in the Walker County jail. It was not known
Sunday if he had an attorney.
