Piedmont Cop Jailed for Alleged Offense in Jail Facility

PIEDMONT, Ala. (AP) - A Piedmont police officer is facing a
criminal charge stemming from alleged improper conduct at the
Piedmont City Jail.

Piedmont Police Chief Steven Tidwell said in a statement that Officer Deon Harris-Brown was arrested Wednesday for committing
prohibited acts with an inmate.

No other details regarding the case was made public.

Tidwell said the arrest followed a joint investigation that included local police agencies and the Alabama Bureau of Investigation.

Harris-Brown was placed in the Calhoun County Jail Thursday where he awaits a bond hearing.
