2 charged in Two-county Chase in NE Alabama

FORT PAYNE, Ala. (AP) - Two suspects face several charges after
leading deputies on a chase through DeKalb and Etowah counties and
allegedly trying to run officers off the road.

Authorities arrested the driver, 38-year-old Anthony Scott Marler of Talladega, and 33-year-old Laura Christine Partridge of Cropwell, after a chase on foot when their car ran off the road Sunday night.

Marler remained in jail Tuesday on drug and reckless endangerment charges with bond set at $12,000. Partridge, who faces drug and resisting arrest charges, was released on an $8,000 bond.

It was not clear if the suspects had a lawyer.

A DeKalb County deputy was patrolling the Aroney area about 10:30 p.m. Sunday when the chase began after used needles allegedly
were thrown from the suspects' car.
