Alabama is headed to prison for more than four years.
U.S. District Judge Lynwood Smith sentenced Jimmy Lewis II on Friday to four years and three months in prison for robbing the Alabama Credit Union in Decatur. Lewis was convicted in August.
Prosecutors said the 27-year-old from Ashford was wearing women's clothing and carrying a purse when the bank was robbed of more than $9,600 in November 2007.
U.S. Attorney Alice Martin said bank surveillance video and the keen eyes of bank employees led to Lewis being identified and arrested in January. The arrest occured when he returned to the U.S. following an international flight.
