The governor also announced Wednesday that the Verizon Foundation is awarding nearly $60,000 of grants to programs that help keep kids safe online.
Riley said bullies, thieves and predators can now reach victims right in their homes.
He said parents need to set rules on Internet usage and talk to their children about online safety and cautioned that people of all ages should be aware.
Verizon awarded $25,000 to the Alabama Network of Children's Advocacy Centers, $9,500 for the Geneva County Family Resource
Center, $10,000 for Girls Inc. of Central Alabama and $15,000 to the Madison City School System.
